Apache Junction, AZ
Bigler Institute of Reconstructive Dentistry Education Suite
Two days, one continuous experience: from the science of zirconia implants to a live surgery and hands-on placement training. Designed for holistic and biological dentists, and for any clinician interested in adding non-metal implants to their practice.
Day 1
Why Ceramic?
- Material science of zirconia, including the properties that distinguish it from titanium as an implant material
- A side-by-side comparison of titanium and ceramic systems, with emphasis on differences in surgical protocol
- Case selection and treatment planning, including the factors most often associated with complications
- Immediate placement protocols, along with the clinical criteria that make this approach predictable
- Documented case studies and the evidence behind the reduced risk of peri-implantitis with ceramic implants
Day 2
Placing and Restoring the SDS System
- A live surgery performed by the instructor, with every participant able to observe and shadow the procedure
- A step-by-step demonstration of the zirconia implant placement technique
- Supervised hands-on placement of zirconia implants on models, with individual instruction and feedback throughout
- Provisionalization and final restoration, including the prosthetic considerations unique to zirconia
- Open Q&A and a practice-integration discussion covering how to present and market zirconia implants to patients
Nonmetal implants are an increasingly requested option for patients who want a metal-free approach to restorative care. As a biological dentist or holistic dentist, offering ceramic implants lets you meet that demand with a well-supported alternative implant system.
